10 mile TT G10/57 race result - 21st July 2009

Yet another event this year with damp roads and a westerly wind, the showers having stopped late afternoon as had been forecast. It was very humid, but the return from the turn into the wind wasn't as hard as riders riders were expecting.

Not a very big turnout, probably because of the weather, for this normally popular final Club event of the season on this faster course. Stephen had yet another win, just 13 seconds off his best time this season. This was after getting to the turn quicker than expected, he then overshot and cut across a footpath to get back to the other side of the dual carriageway.

Phil Cresswell who rarely does evening events after his nearly 50 mile round trip to work in London, made a guest appearance to take the handicap, just 6 seconds slower than his personal best. Most riders were near to their best times this season, so handicap times were closer than normal. New member Andy Burbidge, in his first ever event did a very good time, saying that he can't wait for the next one.
