For a longer ride that extends past Windsor, Henley is a good option. The Chocolate Cafe is situated right next to Thames with seating inside and outside. A good selection of hot and cold food and drinks are available.

Routes

Route 1
This route is a 98 mile route with less than 1000m of elevation. The courses start and end at Wells Road, but the usual meeting place is outside Horton Golf Club.

If the legs are tired or time is an issue, it’s straightforward to shorten the ride by around 20 – 30 miles by cutting across to Windsor at various points.

Route 4
This is a different route out to Henley which follows the Velo Life route until Wargrave where it continues on into Henley instead of taking a right turn to Warren Row. It does pass close to the Wargrave Velo Life – perhaps another stop option. The return is the same as Route 3 – i.e. via Twyford then Egham rather than Staines. It’s a shorter route, at around 80 miles with only 640 metres of elevation.
